TMK Therapy: Your Partner in Mental Health

TMK THERAPY’S USE OF INFORMATION

TMK Therapy is dedicated to safeguarding your personal data and adhering to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy notice outlines how your personal data is handled when you visit this website or communicate with Tisha via phone or email.
On rare occasions, you may need to obtain any information we hold about you. You have a right under GDPR to make a subject access request which will be responded to within one calendar month. In order to do this, you can discuss it with your therapist with specific details of the information you require.

TMK Therapy is registered with the ICO.

Policies Regarding Confidentiality and Data Protection

Psychotherapy and counselling are private and confidential forms of support. I handle information about each client and their therapy sessions with utmost confidentiality. The data I hold includes:

  • Referral forms containing contact details, date of birth, GP information, reasons for seeking therapy, and a closure statement
  • Therapist's notes on the sessions
  • Contact details via Carepatron to schedule our sessions
  • Invoices with your name for billing purposes

This information is crucial for conducting our work and ensuring the best practice for therapy. I store data securely throughout your therapy, always anonymising your notes and locking them away separately from your details.

After your therapy concludes, we retain this information for a maximum of six years to comply with the statute of limitations for legal action. At the end of this period, all data will be securely destroyed.

There are limited circumstances under which we may share your information. However, I will always strive to discuss this with you first and obtain your consent whenever possible. These circumstances include:

  • Immediate risk of harm to you or others
  • Court orders
  • Legal requirements such as those related to terrorism or drug money laundering
  • Agreements made with you to inform your GP, psychiatrist, or other relevant professionals

As part of our professional code of ethics and practice, therapists undergo supervision of their work. It's crucial to emphasize that during supervision, client names or any distinguishing details are never shared. Supervision is conducted with the utmost care to uphold the quality of our work while prioritising the confidentiality and privacy of all clients.
